My Everchanging Garden

Gardening That Grows With Me

Bounty From The Garden

Summer is here and the vegetable garden is really in full swing. After enjoying much of our early season harvest of peas, lettuce, spinach, swiss chard and kholrabi we are now enjoying the bounty from our summer garden. We picked all of the vegetables in the above picture today and still have a red cabbage and some swiss chard to pick tomorrow. The garlic is from our spring garlic planting. Spring garlic always ripens earlier and though it does not keep as well as fall garlic it really fills in the gap until the garlic planted last fall can be harvested.

Looks like we are finally at the stage where I will no longer have to purchase vegetables for our supper!
